Preventative health and patient empowerment

Deakin Medical Centre is a GP Owned practice and has been operating for more than 20 years.

Dr Lau and Dr Lim took over the practice in 1998. We moved to current bigger premises in 2012.
We provide holistic medical care for the whole family, from infant to the elderly. We have families of multiple generations being cared for in the practice.

We aim to not only look after the acute illness, but also encourage preventative health. We encourage you to acquire skills to look after yourself in the long term.

Deakin is a centrally located in a health hub, surrounded by medical specialists, allied health, pathology, and radiology services providing convenient access to multiple health care providers.

Our services are available Mon to Fri 8am to 6pm and we use the Canberra After Hours Locum Service (CALMS) for after hours.

Private Billing

Our practice charges a private fee. Children under 5 years old and Veterans Affairs are bulk billed.

We try very hard to run on time. To assist us, please ask for a longer appointment If you have multiple problems to discuss or a mental health issue.

After Hours Care

If you need to contact a doctor when the surgery is closed, please call our afterhours number. This practice provides 24-hour care for our patients through a deputising service called Canberra After Hours Locum Service otherwise known as CALMS. 1300422567.
